Welcome to Broom Cupboard!

Broom Cupboard is a simple, sylish and novel back-end theme for any custom dynamic website. Built with valid XHTML 1 Strict, CSS3 and supported by the occasional jQuery flourish, all it requires is for you to paste in your dynamic data and function.

Comprised of a main menu + tabbed content, navigating Broom Cupboard is straightforward and logical. Content is displayed at either 50% or 100% of the page width; just two classes to choose from for displaying your structural block elements.

Form Elements

Form Elements

Form elements such as inputs, selects, textareas are all placed within labels allowing for easy positioning and distinction.

The jQuery DatePicker for example requires each date input field to be individually identifiable. The Validation too - click on any of the form submit buttons and you'll see it in action. The 3 basic input fields are required, they have therefore been assigned the class required.

 

The last of the 3 is also an email field and requires correct formatting. This field has the additonal class email. Further documentation of these jQuery scripts can be found at the their authors' sites.

The form submit buttons are just that; buttons and not inputs. This is to avoid the default styling applied to form inputs.

This back-end theme has been checked for accessibility across the main browsers, including Internet Explorer 6 (always a pleasure). The superb Fugue png icons by Yusuke Kamiyamane have even made it over to IE6 thanks to the PNGFIX script by Angus Turnbull. Broom Cupboard hacking for IE6 doesn't affect other browsers as extra images, css files and scripts are separated and only come into play when IE6 is used. If you're not interested in catering for IE6 with this theme then just delete the folder assets/ie6.

All the basic elements which you would come across in a CMS admin have been catered for, though suggestions for an update are welcome.
